Divisions

The educational approach in the Preschool Division is based on the "Learning Centers" method. According to this method, students rotate between various Centers, which are specific areas of the learning environment; offering a variety of activities and tools to help children develop ideas and skills, acquire new concepts and/or other educational interests. This approach helps the students to improve their social skills, expand their oral skills, develop a sense of responsibility and build a positive self-image. Students are kept interested and motivated instead of being confined to one classroom all through the year.
New students are accepted to BAC according to the requirements of the Lebanese laws after a personal interview with the Head of Division.
In the Preschool Division, classes start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 1:15 p.m. Preschoolers are served one healthy meal per day, including milk, tea or fresh juice, with sandwiches and croissants, etc…
Meetings with parents are held on regular basis at the beginning of the year and at the end of each evaluation period to keep them informed about the development and the performance of their children.

In the Lower and Upper Elementary Divisions, classes start at 7:30 a.m. and end at 2:45 p.m. The day is divided into 8 periods (of 45 minutes each) separated by 2 recesses of 30 minutes each.
In the Elementary classes, more emphasis is put on developing the students’ mental, artistic, and interdisciplinary skills. A lot of time is spent on training students to live by the values they should eventually respect inside and outside school. In the Upper Elementary Division, students start to develop their sense of responsibility and begin to express their own choices and justify them.
All disciplines and activities taught in Elementary classes contribute to the development of the concepts of time and space organization as well as methodology skills, such as work habits.
The weekly timetable includes at least one activity session per day such as sports, music, computer, art and cine-club.
The advisory program in the Elementary Divisions uses the story-telling technique, creating an element of suspense, calling on students to discover and adopt values after the discussion of the story in class.
Parents meetings are held on regular basis with the administration and the classroom teachers to keep the parents informed about the progress of their children.

During the school years of the Intermediate cycle, learners are prepared to shift from childhood to early stages of maturity. They are hence encouraged to develop their critical thinking, start discovering themselves and experience harmonious integration with their surrounding. By the end of the Intermediate cycle, the learners are ready to face their first official test, the “Brevet”.

During the Intermediate Division classes, teaching computer is integrated within other subject matters to help learners acquire technical skills in real contextual situations. More emphasis is given to technology, arts and sports. Our learners have distinguished themselves by winning many national and international contests in these fields.

The concept of punctuality in the morning attendance is strongly reinforced.

In the Secondary Division, the educational approach puts more emphasis on interactive teaching. Learners frequently use the science lab, the computer lab, and the library. They make extensive field studies and in-depth research in order to develop the competencies and skills that prepare them to the university stage.

In Grade 12, learners can choose among General Sciences, Life Sciences, Sociology & Economics, or Humanities & Philosophy

Learners are well prepared to sit for the Official Lebanese Exams as well as the different University entrance exams.

Delegates from the major universities visit the school on yearly basis to carry out professional orientation sessions and guidance for applying to their respective universities. These visits are complemented by an in-house career guidance program, which helps in shaping the professional choices of the learner.

The Cultural Program is another distinctive mark of the Secondary Division. The program is centered on the General Theme of the year and helps to foster the critical thinking and presentation skills of the learners.

The follow-up on the learners in the Secondary Division becomes more personalized.
